To ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible, it is important for both parties to understand and agree on the conditions for staying at GENTIL RESIDENCE. Below are the house rules:

•  Option, reservation and payment
  
  
  We can hold your reservation while you make your travel arrangements to the island of Curacao. Once you have booked your flights you can contact us to confirm your reservation for staying in the house. The hold period is usually 5 days but this can vary depending on the season (high or low). We will agree on the length of the hold period when you contact us to stay in the house. If other guests are requesting the house for the same time period as you, we will hold the reservation for 24 hours to give you time to decide.

  If you decide to book your vacation at Gentil Residence we will send you a confirmation by mail. A deposit of 50% of the total amount is due within 7 days of making your reservation to stay at Gentil Reisdence. Euros can be sent (wired) to our Dutch Bank account or Antilles Guilders (Naf) can be sent to our Antillian bank account. The remaining 50% must be paid at the latest 4 weeks prior to your arrival.

  If you book within 4 weeks of arrival the total amount sum must be paid within 5 days of making the booking.

•  Security
  
  
  It is not unthinkable that some damage may occur during your stay. If anything breaks or requires maintenance we ask you to tell us as soon as possible so we can maintain the house in good repair for both you and the guests who follow you. For this a security of 400 Euros must be paid upon arrival. If you are responsible for the damage and the cost of the repair is greater than 25 Euros the cost will be paid out of the security money.
  
  
  
•  Arrival and departure
  
  
  You can begin and end your stay any day of the week. Check-in begins after 4:00pm on the day you arrive and check-out is 10.00am on the day you depart. If you need to stay in the house after 10:00am on the day of your departure, please contact the manager. Please note that it is not always possible to stay longer if the next guests are arriving to begin their stay!
  
  
  
•  Bedding and towels
  
  
  During your stay we will supply sufficient bedding and towels. Please bring your own beach towels for use on the beach as we do not allow our towels to be taken to the beach.
  
  
  
•  Pets
  
  
  Pets are not allowed in or around the villa.
  
  
  
•  Swimming pool
  
  
  A great holiday feeling: your own swimming pool at the house!! You can use the pool as often as you like but NOT after 11:00pm at night or before 7:00am in the morning. This rule is to ensure a good nights rest for other people in the area. The basic rule around any swimming pool: it is absolutely prohibited to use glass in the vicinity of the pool. You can imagine why!! We have sufficient plastic glasses in the house so you can sit on the edge of the pool and enjoy a nice drink.
  
  
  
•  To smoke
  
  
  We ask that you refrain from smoking inside the house. This shouldn’t be a problem because on this sunny island we always sit outside -- and there you can find an ashtray.
  
  
  
•  Taxi service
  
  
  If you want, we’ll pick you up from the airport. A round trip costs 55 euro. Please let us know in advance if you want to use this service.
  
  
  
•  Gas, electric and water
  
  
  The use of gas and water is included. For electric we will charge you 0,35 euro per used KwH.
  
  
  
•  Shopping service
  
  
  If you wish we can do some shopping to stock the refrigerator with items you will need after your long trip to Curacao. Please send us an email message a few days before your arrival letting us know what goods you want us to purchase. We will not charge you for this service.
  
  
  
•  Internet
  
  
  You can use the prepaid internet connection (the charge is 2 guilders per hour = approximately 0,80 eurocent) however you have to bring your own notebook with you.
  
  
  
•  Telephone
  
  
  You can receive incoming calls during your entire stay. For outgoing calls you can use a prepaid telephone card which can be purchased at petrol/gas stations, supermarkets and toko’s.
  
  
  
  
•  Cancellations
  
  
  If you have to cancel your reservation, we will try to rent the villa for the same dates. The following conditions apply:

  1. If the villa is rented in full for your originally booked dates: cancellation fee of € 100,-
  
  2. If the villa is rented for parts of your originally booked dates: cancellation fee of € 100,- plus the rental rate of the nights which are not rented; maximum is the full rental rate of the originally booked dates
  
  3. If the villa is not rented again: full-agreed rental rate for your originally booked dates.
  
  
  If you leave earlier than agreed in the rental agreement, there is no refund. We strongly advise you to have cancellation insurance.
